COVID-19

Measures adopted by Greek Patent and Trademark offices and courts to address the covid-19 situation
Greek Courts
  • All court hearings (civil, administrative, criminal and military) scheduled between 13 March and 31 May 2020 have been temporarily suspended with an exception, as regards civil courts, for ex parte Temporary Restraining Order hearings

  • All statutory and judicial deadlines for the procedural acts and other actions before the court authorities and services, as well as the statute of limitation for the relevant claims and enforcement proceedings are also suspended for the same time period, that may be extended by a new Ministerial Decision, if necessary

  • The above suspension does not affect the publication of judgments. However copies of judgments and certificates can not be obtained from the court during the above period as the courts´ secretariat will be closed

  • The court hearings suspended will be rescheduled ex officio, once the courts are fully operative

Greek Trademark Office
  • The Greek trademark office remains closed to the public and receives  trademark applications only if submitted electronically.

  • All hearings of the Trademark Administrative Committee scheduled between 11 March 2020 and 10 June 2020 are suspended

  • Only a  limited range of services is provided electronically

  • All trademark-related deadlines provided by the law, as well as those set by trademark examiners or the Trademark Administrative Committee, including deadlines for the payment of official fees falling due as of 11 March 2020 until 12 June 2020 are suspended

Greek Patent Office
  • The Greek patent office remains open receiving patent, utility model and design applications and documents only if submitted electronically

  • All deadlines for the submission of documents falling due as of 11 March 2020 until 12 June 2020 are suspended

  • Deadlines for the payment of any official fees and the submission of respective applications during this period are not affected and remain in force
